Outreach Worker - Tisbury MC, Yeovil & Blackmore Vale Circuit

An exciting opportunity to develop and deepen existing community outreach work amongst people of all ages at Tisbury Methodist Church (TMC).

TMC is a community of disciples of Jesus who daily experience the love of God. Led by the Holy Spirit, we seek to show and share God’s love with others so that they might also believe. With this in mind, in 2022 we launched Communitea Café, providing people of all ages with a safe place to meet and chat, play, and unload with a listening ear and refreshments always available. Since then, our presence in the community has grown and we now run a Parent and Toddler Group (Tis Tots) a monthly community lunch and have supported various community events throughout the year.

The successful candidate will be passionate about mission to people of all ages yet patient and sensitive to the pastoral issues in their lives. A pioneer, with proven experience of outreach work, they will work with our minister and a small team of volunteers to continue and build on the work already started.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the post to be filled by a Christian.

An Enhanced Disclosure check will be required for the successful applicant.

£11.50 per hour

Initially 10 hours per week with the potential to increase to 20 hours.

3-year appointment.
