Webinar: Understanding gaming and gambling harms

This programme aims to raise awareness and address the issue of gambling harm disproportionately affecting people from marginalised communities
The programme content centres on an understanding of socio-cultural and religious contexts relating to gambling harm, and explores shame, stigma and barriers to seeking support, along with influences such as advertising and online gaming.
On completion of the workshop, you will receive access to Ygam complimentary and downloadable resources and additional sessions on topics such as cryptocurrency, lived experience and more.
Learning outcomes: • You will increase their knowledge and understanding of gaming and gambling harms • You will understand the triggers and risk factors of gaming and gambling harms for young people in marginalised communities • You will understand the role religion and culture can play in young people’s views and actions in relation to gaming and gambling • You will recognise the signs of harm and understand what support can be provided • You will understand what skills and tools can be used to prevent gaming and gambling harms
