What Are the Hallmarks of an Effective Team?

An online gathering for lay employees across the Channel Islands & Southampton Districts

What makes a team not only function well, but flourish? How do we work together in ways that energise, support, and strengthen our shared mission?

Join us for a special online event led by Emma Nash, Mission & Community Engagement Officer for the Connexional Team, as we explore the core characteristics of healthy, effective teams in Methodist contexts. Through practical insight, honest reflection, and real‑world examples, we’ll look at what helps teams thrive—and the small shifts that can make a big difference.

Although we’ll be meeting online, you’ll join others from your area in local hubs, creating space to learn together. After the session, we invite you to pause, chat, and continue the conversation over a provided lunch.

Come to be encouraged, equipped, and connected as we grow stronger in our shared work.

------

We'll be meeting in a range of hubs across the Districts, simply choose which venue you would like to join when you book your ticket (Newbury, Weymouth, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth or Salisbury).

We do hope that all lay employees from Southampton and the Channel Islands will be able to join us as we celebrate their amazing contribution to our churches!

We appreciate that this is a different way of doing the lay employees gathering, and we we hope it will foster an even deeper sense of connection across our Districts. However, if travelling to join in-person creates a challenge for you, do let me know (devenishj@methodistchurch.org.uk), as we would not want any lay employees from our Districts to miss out on this excellent opportunity.
