We all know that Advent/Christmas 2020 are not going to be as they normally are. But we have the wonderful opportunity to explore and share that Christmas brings Hope, that we can share Emmanuel with our communities. 

 

Unfortunately this year, we can't cram everyone in to sing carols, or build Christingles or the hundred and one other ways we have done things in the past. But Dr Heidi Campbell has written some very helpful things around distanced church and shared three things that might be useful to think about, whether you are doing a Digital or Analogue Christmas!

So, what can we Transfer - what can we simply do but in a different format. What can we Translate into a new format as a book might be translated into a film. And finally what can we Transform for the new space and times we are in. 

An example might be Carol Singing:

We could Transfer this by limiting the numbers or doing a performance.  

We could Translate this by inviting people to a livestream carol service and provide the words.

We could Transform this by arranging a community doorstep singing carol event.
