Many of us will have spent these weeks in prayer, reflection, and perhaps giving a little more time to God in the midst of our everyday routines. Life can be busy, and as women we often find ourselves caring for others, supporting our families, serving in our churches, and responding to the needs around us. Yet Lent gently reminds us that we are also invited to pause, to rest in God’s presence, and to be renewed.
The journey towards Easter takes us first to the cross. It is there that we are reminded of the depth of God’s love for the world – a love that does not turn away from suffering but walks through it with compassion and grace.
As members and friends of Methodist Women in Britain, we share a calling to reflect that love in our own communities. Through friendship, prayer, hospitality, and acts of kindness, we become signs of hope for others. Sometimes it may be through something simple: listening to someone who feels alone, offering encouragement, or standing alongside those who need support.
And then, of course, comes the wonderful hope of Easter morning.
The resurrection reminds us that God is always bringing new life. Even when the world feels uncertain or heavy, the Easter story tells us that love is stronger than fear and life is stronger than death.
My prayer for all of us as we approach Easter is that we may continue to walk this journey together – supporting one another, sharing God’s love, and holding firmly to the hope that Easter brings.
May the joy of the risen Christ fill our hearts and inspire us to keep shining that light in the world around us.
Christ is risen. He is risen indeed.
