District youth consider their influence
Around 20 young people from across the Southampton District joined together for a creative and engaging youth event last month.
The event, at Bemerton Methodist Church near Salisbury on Sunday 22 February, featured games, craft, drama, video creation and more - all focused on how we’re influenced, or influencing people, every day.
The group were joined by the President of the Conference, Rev. Richard Andrew, and the Youth President, Genesis Padgett, who shared with the young people and answered questions about their roles.
Southampton District’s Intergenerational Mission Enabler Mark Tizzard, known as Tizz, says ‘There was a great mix of activities that encouraged imagination, reflection, and connection. We hope the young people had a really positive and meaningful time together and that they went away reflecting on their work as influencers, in their own ways and contexts.’
The day finished with worship including a range of prayer stations linked to the theme.
Tizz adds ‘The team behind the scenes did an amazing job preparing, running, and packing everything away. And, of course, a big thank you to all the volunteers and young people who made the day what it was.’
