If you receive an email / text purporting to be from a minister and asking if you are free – before you respond do check the email address / mobile number and make sure it is from the minister. If in doubt contact the minister on a number you know is correct for them.
Those who do respond to the text / email are asked to buy google play cards because the minister is in a prayer meeting / visiting / otherwise busy. The scam usually says they are for someone very ill.
DO NOT RESPOND TO THE MESSAGE – EITHER DELETE OR CONTACT THE MINISTER DIRECTLY.
